1 Introduction
Lucid Lucky ("we", "our", or "us") develops and publishes mobile applications available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, including Al Quran: Read & Listen Audio and other apps under the same developer account.
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use any of our mobile applications (the "Apps"). By downloading or using any of our Apps, you agree to the terms of this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall and do not use our Apps.
2 Information We Collect
Our Apps are built with a privacy-first approach.
✅ We do not collect your name, email, phone, or any personal identifier.
✅ We do not track your location.
✅ We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
Data stored locally on your device only:
- App preferences — language, theme (light/dark), font size
- Favorites and bookmarks you create
- Reading/listening progress and last-opened content
- Selected reciter and audio playback preferences
All of the above is stored exclusively on your device using the platform's local storage (AsyncStorage on React Native / SharedPreferences on Android). It is never uploaded to any server.
Technical diagnostic data (non-personal):
- Crash reports may be collected automatically to help us fix bugs — these contain device type, OS version, and a stack trace; no personal information
3 Third-Party Services
Our Apps communicate with the following external services to deliver core features. These services receive standard network request data (your IP address, device OS/version) as part of normal internet operation. We pass no personal information to them.
- alquran.cloud — Open-source public API for Quran text and translations. alquran.cloud
- cdn.islamic.network — Audio CDN for Quranic recitation streams.
- Google Play Services — Standard Android platform services provided by Google. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their individual privacy policies.
4 How We Use Information
The minimal data we collect is used solely to:
- Provide and maintain the core functionality of our Apps
- Remember your preferences between sessions for a seamless experience
- Diagnose and resolve technical crashes or errors
- Improve app performance and user experience
We will never use any information for advertising, behavioural profiling, or share it with data brokers.
5 App Permissions
Our Apps may request the following device permissions. Each permission is requested only when the corresponding feature is used:
- Internet Access — Required to fetch Quran text, translations, and audio recitations from public APIs and CDNs.
- Audio / Media Playback — Required to play Quranic recitations, including background playback while the screen is off.
- Foreground Service (Android) — Required to keep the audio player running when the app is minimised to the background.
- Wake Lock (Android) — Prevents the device from sleeping while audio is actively playing.
You may revoke any permission at any time via your device's Settings → Apps → [App Name] → Permissions. Revoking a permission will disable the feature that depends on it.
6 Data Retention & Deletion
All locally stored data (preferences, bookmarks, progress) lives entirely on your device. You can delete it at any time by:
- Using the "Reset" or "Clear Data" option within the app's Settings screen
- Going to your device Settings → Apps → [App Name] → Storage → Clear Data
- Uninstalling the application
Because we do not store personal data on our own servers, there is no additional data to request deletion of from us.
7 Children's Privacy
Our Apps are general-audience applications. They do not target children under the age of 13 (or the applicable digital age of consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If you believe a child has used our Apps and any data may have been inadvertently collected, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps.
8 Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect any information associated with our Apps. Since all user-generated data is stored locally on your device rather than on remote servers, your data is protected by your device's built-in security: screen lock, storage encryption, and app sandboxing enforced by the operating system.
No method of data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot warrant absolute security, but we minimise risk by design — collecting as little data as possible.
9 GDPR & International Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under applicable data protection law (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data.
Because we collect no personal data that is transmitted to or stored on our servers, there is generally no data for us to provide, rectify, or erase on request. However, if you have a GDPR-related inquiry, please contact us at [email protected].
For users outside the EEA: by using our Apps, you acknowledge that content may be fetched from servers in various jurisdictions where the third-party services listed in Section 3 operate.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, display an in-app notification.
Your continued use of our Apps after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
